Bring it on! Resistance is counter-revolutionary!

This is more than terrifying. Our country has not prepared our younger generation, who show an interest in only personal comfort and consumerism, to address these travesties. Yet now it is being reported that there are people their age being held at Gitmo. We should take to the streets and oust the dictators.

Kiki, I agree with you; however, in our more cynical moments, I and others sometimes think that our younger generation actually was "prepared," and they have turned out exactly as it was intended. An apathetic populace doesn't have the will to resist the destruction of democracy. In "normal" cynical moments, I and others think certain elements in our government have seen this golden opportunity (intellectually lazy society) and have taken full advantage of it. It's easy to do when the corporations that own our politicians also own the mainstream media.

Chris, at least resistance is counter-revolutionary in the case of the United States early in the 21st century.

I urge you both to read BradBlog on a daily basis (or at least two or three times a week). Without Brad's site and a few others (linked at his site), the public would probably never have heard anything about scam voting machines and the giant corporations that have intentionally built them to be hacked by those who might wish to change the vote tallies.

Here is an excellent 36-minute documentary (free online). The fact that it was made shortly before the 2004 election only adds to the gravity of the situation: Votergate.
